Ode to a TrilobiteI can hold you in my hand––  you are the same size and shape  as the concavity of the  palm of my hand.  Your texture is rough.  You are older than dirt.   
You were here before America;  before Italy;  before Japan;  Germany,  Albania,  Ireland.   
But you are dead.   
I like to think of you  shuffling through the mud  of the shallow oceans that covered  the Continental Mainland  of the USA.   
You could not have known  what you would see  in death.  For your sake,  this is both  a blessing  an Ode to a Trilobite

I want to tell you  my favorite thing about you.  I want to let you know  that the thing that gets you in trouble   is the thing that also makes you great.   
With most people,  who are far less in essence than you,  in wit or beauty or depth of kindness,  I'm not so comfortable.  But I can be myself  ––whomever that may be––  with you.

I'd like to make an announcement! Largely thanks to my dear, dear friend Donika, I now have a business. You see, Donika started selling prospective polymer dolls to strangers at our school. Because of this, I need to get more Sculpey, paint, fabric, yarn, and a website. There are a lot of people, we found, who would seriously pay for my dolls. I find this amazing.

Also, everyone's favorite doll here is the "scary mermaid." I haven't finished her but when I do, I'm giving her to Donika for starting my business for me. So you will probably see that one finished soon. The other one that I am working on is the ripoff of Marie Antoinette's style––I call her "Dauphine Prime" because she s the first of many many dolls I am going to make with the classic 1700s Marie Antoinette updo. Between her epic cuteness and Donika's epic cuteness, I have a business!

I will be selling the dolls at individually determined prices but they will definitely be more expensive upstate and hopefully I will have enough to sell at the St. Joe's Christmas bazaar called "The Sugar Plum Shoppe" this year. Upstate I can probably get $100 for the Dauphine series dolls! That's exciting. Down here in the Bronx, however, I can probably only scrape $30 or maybe $40. Which is still good. But you know.
