Hi guys, I have a great picture to show you but I don't currently have it. Fr. O'Connor is supposed to email it but it didn't work. So here's the story behind it: the Sisters of Life
[link] visited St. Joe's today. (My pastor Fr. O'Connor teaches the novices basic theology course and so he's friends with these nuns. One of them said that the community comprises around 60 sisters, but maybe 25 visited our parish today.) If you know me, saying that the Sisters visited today should sum up the story. Fr. O'Connor has been working actively to push me to join their order since I was 14 because I want to be a priest.
Anyway, the past year or so, I took over a lot of the CCD responsibilities within my parish so Fr. O'Connor has been asking me all summer how long we have to be together.

I'm kind of like his Emily, if you're familiar with the story of
The Devil Wears Prada, not to call Fr. O'C the devil!!!!! And I don't think he would spend much money on Prada. But he did spend money on something else and that's part of what makes this story great.
So my mom decides that this would be an appropriate time for a photo op. "But I don't have a camera!" she laments. Fairly traditional Father O'Connor finds a hidden pocket in his chasuble which he didn't even take off yet and goes, "But I do!" and breaks out an iPhone. SERIOUSLY.
So once Fr. O'Connor's chasuble has disappeared, he's trying to figure out his iPhone but really without a clue of how to work it, let alone take a picture. Even I was at a loss.
Fr. O'Connor took 20 minutes to take the picture because Sr. Mary Guadalupe of Our Eucharistic Lord blinked or Sr. Mary Magdalene of the Immaculate Heart of Mary wasn't looking at the camera (those aren't real names). We conquer that he was just enjoying the view.
Then one of the younger nuns exited the photo shoot area to show him how to do it. All the other nuns just said, "She's new."
One of the other young nuns looked at me and asked, "Is this, like, awkwardfor you?" And I was like, "This is Fr. O'Connor's dream so we should just go with it."
The Sisters want me to "round up some girls" for their promotional retreat so if anyone is interested in discerning a vocation or just wants to hang out with the coolest nuns ever
let me know.
Anyhoo I just thought it prudent to share that story.
