Today is the feast day of the Archangels, Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael! Everyone should love these guys for all that they do for us. In fact today is a day of celebration of all of God's angels, though there is a separate feast day for our Guardian Angels. Today is named after Michael, the Prince of God's angels.

The angels, and in particular the three (main) Archangels, have great tasks that are continuously in progress. Michael is the help of soldiers, civil servants, and police officers, but also of those tormented by the devil and of course is a huge help to exorcists. Gabriel is the most commonly referenced messenger of God, and he brought messages to and from and among humans and God during Mary's pregnancy and the childhood of Jesus. Raphael is our companion and guide in travels and in sickness. These angels are very important, but they are also very kind.

Some of you may know the role that the angels and in particular the Archangels along with my BFF Guardian Angel play in my life. I have become very close with them. We can also pray to the guardian angels of people we care about. Angels are always with us. Please, please don’t forget that they are there, especially since some of the angels who surround us are not of God. Always remember all of the angels and ask the good ones to protect, keep, and guide you. In the words of Saint Padre Pio, whose feast we celebrated just six days ago, “Have continual fear lest you offend the purity of his [your guardian angel’s] gaze.”

THE LEONINE PRAYER TO SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL
Archangel Saint Michael, defend us in the day of battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the almighty power of the Most High God, cast into hell Satan and all other evil spirits who prowl the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

THE PRAYER TO SAINT GABRIEL THE ARCHANGEL
O Blessed Archangel Gabriel, we beseech thee, do thou intercede for us at the throne of the Divine Mercy in our present necessities, that as thou didst announce to Mary the mystery of the Incarnation, so through thy prayers and patronage in Heaven we may obtain the benefits of the same, and sing the praise of God forever in the Land of the Living. Amen

THE PRAYER TO SAINT RAPHAEL THE ARCHANGEL
Glorious ARchangel Saint Raphael, great prince of the heavenly court, you are illustrious for your gifts of wisdom and grace. You are a guide for those who journey by land or sea or air, consoler of the afflicted, and refuge of sinners. I beg you, assist me in all my needs and in all the sufferings of this life, as once you helped the young Tobias on his travels. Because you are the “medicine of God,” I humbly pray you to heal the many infirmities of my soul and the ills that afflict my body. I especially ask of you the favor (name it) and the great grace of purity to prepare me to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. Amen

A PRAYER TO THE GUARDIAN ANGELS OF OTHERS
Guardian Angel,
watch over those whose names you can read in my heart.
Guard over them with every care
and make their way easy and their labours fruitful.
Dry their tears if they weep;
sanctify their joys;
raise their courage if they weaken;
restore their hope if they lose heart,
their health if they be ill,
truth if they err,
repentance if they fail.

Angel of God, my guardian dear,
To whom God’s love commits me here,

A PRAYER TO ONE’S GUARDIAN ANGEL
Dear Angel at my side, my good and loyal friend, you have been with me since the moment I was born. You are my own personal guardian, given me by God as my guide and protector, and you will stay with me till I die. He who created you and me gave me to you as your particular charge. You assisted in great joy at my baptism, when I became part of the Mystical Body of Christ, and was made a member of the household of God and an heir of heaven. You saw the dangers that beset my path, and, if I sinned, it was in spite of you. You envied me when Christ came to me in Holy Communion. Even though you probably were there among the angels that adored Him the night that He was born, you have not been able to receive Him as I can. O, help me to appreciate these gifts! Help me to realize, as you do, with every fiber of my being, that to serve Christ is to be a King! Help me steadfastly to avoid evil and do good and always guard my soul from sin. Protect me as well from physical evils as I go about my daily work. You will be with me all my life, and at the hour of my death. Help me to face death bravely, patiently, with great love of God, knowing that it is only through death that I can come to Him in heaven! Then, come with me to my Judge, and when the hour of my salvation comes, take me home to my Father, God.
